A Recent Disappearing 9 Patch

Another one I forgot to publish. Recent work.  

This pattern is my go-to design for a fast quilt. I've made 4 or 5 of them now. Here's the latest, inspired by one of the prints.

Here's a detail of the print that got me started with this quilt.

Yellow, Green & White

Seems I never published this, so here it is.

This was a challenge I made for myself.  I found this yellow & white print (yellow circles with a green dot inside them). So I decided I would only use those colors, & a tiny bit of this intense blue found in the prints of the central squares.

Original Print Design

This little quilt is special to me because it features an Original Print Design of mine.

The graphic Print was made from a photo I took of a Sansevieria plant, which picture I then manipulated into the Design. I uploaded My Design to the custom printer Spoonflower, where it was printed on Fabric and is for sale. 

Quilts for Twin Toddlers

Recently became sort of accquainted with a pair of Twin Girls and their lovely Parents. I enjoyed the Twins so much I decided to make them quilts. Of course, in each Twin's preferred color.

Seems I forgot to post about  this. I was quite pleased with these results.

Here's a comparison of 2 different colorways for this same Quilt Block.  I saw it on a YouTube tutorial by Jenny Doan of MSQ.  She called it "Two Step". It's a quick & easy block to make.

Here are each of them, the 2nd one first.

The first of these I made.

 

The Sonja’s Window quilt design (originally from 3 Dudes Quilting)

The First is the original I made:  Blues for 3 Dudes Quilting (sashed and bordered);

The Second, the top I had finished in Apple Green / Maroon Batik (from Janice). (Has slimmish borders but no sashing); and

The Third, the recently completed Cranberry, Aqua & Green (also sashed, and bordered with corner blocks).

All based on premise of 2 squares, 4 jelly roll strips sewn together side by side. Put them right sides together, but w/ the strips of one block perpendicular to those of the other, then sew a ¼ inch seam all around the outer perimeter.  Then cut them diagonally corner to corner (NE to SW, NW to SE) & open to reveal 4 different blocks which can be assembled into several different layouts.

The top above has been long-armed by a Friend and awaits binding, since my Sewing Machine is down.

Potato Chip Block

So named because one finds you can't make just one. The individual pieces (called bricks or chips) measure 2.5 x 4.5 inches. 

I made a couple of blocks & a couple more blocks & pretty soon I had a beautiful collection of blue & white blocks.

 

Though I admit to being partial to blue, I love how this Quilt came out. And I really did find making these blocks rather addictive.
